Case study

One Shopify store serving both retail buyers and B2B private-label clients

Kishaan is a makhana (fox nut) manufacturer selling directly to consumers while also taking private-label and bulk enquiries. Two very different buyers, one store — and the structure had to serve both without confusing either.

The challenge

A manufacturer selling both retail packs and bulk private-label has a structural problem: the two audiences want completely different things.

A retail shopper wants to see the pack, the price, the reviews and a fast checkout. A private-label buyer wants to know minimum order quantity, packaging options, certifications and how to reach a human. Put both on one page and neither converts.

Our approach

We split the buying paths without splitting the brand. Retail keeps the primary navigation and homepage; B2B gets its own clearly signposted route with a purpose-built enquiry flow.

For the retail side we rebuilt product pages around the questions people actually ask before buying makhana — what does it taste like, how is it processed, is it roasted, how much is a serving — answered in short scannable blocks rather than paragraphs.

For B2B we replaced a plain contact form with a qualifying enquiry form that captures order quantity, packaging requirement, target market and timeline up front. That single change turned raw enquiries into quotable leads.

What we built

Dual buying paths

Separate retail and B2B journeys with distinct landing content, sharing one brand and one catalogue.

Qualifying B2B form

Captures MOQ, packaging, market and timeline so quotes can be sent on the first reply.

Rebuilt product pages

Scannable benefits, nutrition detail, trust cues and reviews placed near Add to Cart.

Mobile-first speed work

Image pipeline, script control and layout-shift fixes for sub-2-second product pages.

Editable sections

Every block editable in the theme editor so the team can run campaigns without a developer.

Technical SEO

Clean heading structure, product schema, meta setup and internal linking across collections.

The outcome

Retail conversion improved by 41% after the rebuild, driven mainly by clearer product pages and a faster mobile experience rather than any single trick.

On the B2B side the volume of enquiries roughly doubled, but the more useful change was quality — because the form asks the right questions, the team can quote on the first reply instead of chasing details over several emails.

“They understood that we sell to two completely different kinds of buyer and built the store around that instead of forcing one template. The B2B enquiries we get now actually have the information we need to quote.”
