Case study

Selling Ayurvedic skincare to buyers who need to understand it first

Ayurmveda makes Ayurvedic wellness and skincare products. In this category the sale depends on comprehension — people buy once they understand what an ingredient does and why it suits their concern.

+29%Revenue after the rebuild
+35%Repeat purchase rate
−40%Product-page bounce rate

The challenge

Ayurvedic products carry an education burden. Buyers arrive with a concern — dryness, hair fall, acne — not with a product name in mind.

Our approach

We reorganised the store around concerns rather than product names. A visitor picks their concern and lands on a curated set with an explanation of why those products suit it.

Ingredient content was restructured into short, scannable blocks — what it is, what it does, who it suits — so the education happens without a wall of text.

To convert first-timers we introduced clear entry products and starter routines. To turn them into repeat buyers we built routine bundles and a refill prompt so the second purchase becomes obvious rather than something the customer has to remember.

What we built

Concern-led navigation

Shop by skin or hair concern, with curated sets and a reason for each recommendation.

Scannable ingredient blocks

Short benefit-led content replacing long paragraphs on every product page.

Starter routines

Clear entry products and routine bundles for first-time Ayurvedic buyers.

Refill & repeat prompts

Routine bundles and refill cues that make the second purchase easy.

Trust content

Sourcing, formulation and usage guidance placed where hesitation happens.

Technical SEO

Concern-based collection pages targeting how people actually search.

The outcome

Revenue improved roughly 29%, and product-page bounce rate fell about 40% once the content became scannable.

The bigger long-term win was repeat purchase rate, up around 35% — routines and refill prompts turned single purchases into a habit.

“Our customers were never confused about Ayurveda. They were confused about where to start. Fixing that fixed the sales.”
