Migrating to Shopify means moving your entire store — products, variants, customers, order history, content and URL structure — onto Shopify without losing data or search rankings.
We run migrations on a staging store first, verify every record against your source data, and map 301 redirects before cutover. Your old store stays live until the new one is proven.
Why brands move to Shopify
Merchants usually migrate for one of four reasons, and it is rarely about features on paper.
- Maintenance fatigue. Updates, plugins, hosting and security patches eat time that should go into selling.
- Speed and stability. Shopify handles hosting, CDN and checkout scale, so traffic spikes stop being frightening.
- Checkout conversion. Shopify’s checkout is one of the most optimised on the internet, and you inherit that for free.
- Ecosystem. Payments, shipping, marketing, reviews and analytics integrate cleanly instead of through fragile plugins.
We only work on Shopify, so we will not pretend to be neutral — but we will tell you if your current setup is fine and a migration is not worth the disruption.
What we migrate
Products & variants
Titles, descriptions, images, SKUs, options, inventory, pricing and metafields — verified record by record.
Customers
Customer records, addresses, tags and marketing consent, preserving segmentation you already rely on.
Order history
Past orders carried across so support, returns and lifetime-value reporting still work.
Content
Blog posts, category and landing-page content, images and internal links.
URLs & redirects
A full old-to-new URL map with 301 redirects, so rankings and backlinks transfer.
Integrations
Payments, shipping, email marketing, reviews, analytics and any ERP or 3PL connection.
The part most migrations get wrong: SEO
Most horror stories about migrations are really redirect stories. The new store launches, old URLs return 404, and months of ranking evaporate.
We handle it as its own workstream. Before cutover we export every indexed URL, map each one to its new equivalent, and load the 301 redirects into Shopify. Meta titles, descriptions, heading structure, image alt text and structured data all carry over. After launch we monitor Search Console for crawl errors and fix them immediately.
How a migration runs
Audit & export
We inventory your catalogue, customers, orders, content and indexed URLs, then agree exactly what moves.
Staging build
Everything is imported into a private Shopify store and checked against your source data.
Redirects & testing
Redirect map loaded, integrations connected, test orders placed end to end on real devices.
Cutover
We go live at a low-traffic time with rollback ready, then monitor rankings, orders and crawl errors.
How we take the risk out
Three things make a migration safe. Your old store stays live and selling until the new one is verified. Nothing is guessed — every record is reconciled against the export. And the cutover has a rollback plan written before we start, not improvised on the day.
You also keep everything: the Shopify account, the theme and all custom code are 100% yours, with no lock-in.
Frequently asked questions
Will I lose data when migrating to Shopify?
No. We migrate products, variants, customers, order history and content, then reconcile every record against your source export before cutover. Your old store stays live until the new one is verified.
Will my store be down during the migration?
No. The new store is built and tested privately while your current store keeps selling. Cutover is a single DNS or domain switch at a low-traffic time, with a rollback plan ready.
What happens to my Google rankings?
We export every indexed URL, map each one to its new address and load 301 redirects before launch, so rankings and backlinks transfer. Meta tags, headings and structured data are carried over too.
Can you migrate my order history?
Yes. Past orders can be imported so customer support, returns and lifetime-value reporting continue to work after the move.
How long does a migration take?
Small catalogues typically take two to three weeks. Large catalogues, complex variants or heavy integrations usually take four to eight weeks. You get a written plan and timeline before we start.
Do I need a redesign at the same time?
Not necessarily. We can rebuild your existing look on Shopify, or design a new store as part of the move. Doing both together is usually more efficient than doing them separately.
What do you need from me to start?
Admin access to your current store, a product and customer export if available, your list of integrations, and domain access for cutover. We handle the rest.
Will I own everything after the migration?
Yes. The Shopify account, the theme and all custom code are 100% yours. There is no lock-in and no dependency on us after handover.
