Shopify store development is the process of designing, building and launching an online store on Shopify — including the theme, product structure, checkout flow, integrations and performance setup.

At Ansys Digital we build custom Shopify stores in two to four weeks, with conversion-focused design, speed tuning, and every section editable by you afterwards. You own the store and all the code.

What Shopify store development actually includes

Most people think a Shopify store is just a theme with products added. In practice a store that performs needs several layers working together, and a weak layer quietly costs you sales every day.

Here is what we handle on a typical build:

Store strategy

Catalogue structure, collection logic, navigation and the buying path a first-time visitor will take.

Conversion-focused design

Homepage, collection, product, cart and checkout pages designed around trust cues and clear next steps.

Custom theme build

Clean Liquid code with reusable sections, so you can rearrange the store later without a developer.

Product & variant setup

Products, variants, options, metafields, inventory and pricing structured so they scale as you grow.

Apps & integrations

Payments, shipping, reviews, email marketing, analytics and WhatsApp — only the apps you actually need.

Speed & technical SEO

Image optimisation, script control, clean heading structure, meta setup and schema for product pages.

Why a custom build beats a purchased theme

Paid themes are cheap and quick, and for a very small brand they can be enough. The problems appear once you start growing.

A custom theme costs more up front and pays for itself in speed, flexibility and brand perception. If your budget is tight, we often start with a heavily customised premium theme and rebuild it properly later.

Our Shopify development process

Discovery call

We look at your brand, products, competitors and goals, then agree scope in writing — fixed price, fixed timeline, no surprises.

Design

You approve the key page designs before development starts, so there are no expensive surprises later in the build.

Development

We build the custom theme, set up products and integrations, and test on real devices — desktop, tablet and mobile.

Launch & training

We go live, run final checks, and give you a 30-minute call so you can manage the store confidently on day one.

After launch you get two free revision rounds valid for 21 days, plus WhatsApp and email support if something needs attention.

Who we build for

We work with brands that treat their store as a real revenue channel rather than a brochure. That usually means:

Categories we work in most: fashion and apparel, jewellery, beauty and wellness, home and decor, food and nutrition, pet, electronics and accessories.

What a Shopify store costs

We do not publish fixed packages, and we are honest about why: a five-product jewellery store and a 400-SKU apparel store are not the same job, and pretending otherwise means someone gets overcharged.

Cost depends on four things — how many products you have, how many custom sections you need, which integrations are involved, and whether you are on standard Shopify or Shopify Plus.

After a short discovery call you get a written quote with a fixed price and a fixed delivery date. If the scope changes later, we quote the change before doing it.

Frequently asked questions

How long does Shopify store development take?

A focused store typically launches in two to four weeks. Larger catalogues, custom features or Shopify Plus builds usually take four to eight weeks. We confirm the exact timeline in writing before work begins.

How much does it cost to build a Shopify store?

We do not use fixed packages because scope varies widely. Cost depends on catalogue size, number of custom sections, integrations and whether you need Shopify Plus. After a discovery call you get a written quote with a fixed price and timeline.

Do you build a custom theme or use a paid theme?

Both are possible. Most clients get a custom-built theme so the store is unique, fast and free of unused code. If you already own a premium theme we can customise it heavily instead, which reduces cost.

Will I own the store and the code?

Yes. The Shopify account, the theme and all custom code are 100% yours. There is no lock-in, no hidden licence and no dependency on us after handover.

Can I edit the store myself after launch?

Yes. Every section is built to be editable in the Shopify theme editor, so you can change text, images, banners and product blocks without code. We also include a 30-minute training call on delivery.

Do you work with international clients?

Yes. We work with brands in the US, UK, Canada, Australia, the UAE and Europe. Communication is over email, WhatsApp or scheduled calls in your timezone.

What do you need from me to start?

Your logo and brand assets, product data (images, titles, prices), any reference stores you like, and Shopify store access. If your product data is not ready, we can begin with design while you prepare it.

What happens if I need changes after delivery?

Every project includes two free revision rounds, valid for 21 days after delivery. Beyond that we can quote separately or move you to a monthly support arrangement.
