Speed optimisation

Make your Shopify store fast where it actually matters — on mobile

Real code-level optimisation: heavy scripts controlled, images and fonts fixed, layout shift removed. We optimise for Core Web Vitals and load time on real phones, not just a lab score.

Shopify speed optimisation is code-level work to reduce how long your store takes to become usable — mainly by controlling third-party scripts, fixing images and fonts, and removing layout shift.

We optimise for Core Web Vitals and real mobile load time, and we send a before-and-after report so you can see exactly what changed. No speed plugins, because they mostly move the problem around.

Why speed is a revenue problem, not a technical one

Most of your traffic is on a phone, often on an average connection. Every extra second before your page is usable, more of those visitors leave before they ever see your product.

Speed also affects what you pay for traffic. Slow landing pages hurt ad quality and waste spend, and Core Web Vitals are part of how Google evaluates your pages. So the same fix improves conversion, ad efficiency and search visibility at once.

Why Shopify stores get slow

Shopify’s hosting is fast. Almost every slow Shopify store is slow for reasons inside the theme and the apps.

What we actually do

Script audit

We find every script, identify what it belongs to, remove the dead ones and defer the rest so they stop blocking render.

Image pipeline

Correct sizes and formats, responsive image sets, lazy loading below the fold, and priority loading for your hero.

Font strategy

Fewer weights, preloaded and swapped so text appears immediately instead of after the font arrives.

Layout shift fixes

Reserved space for images, banners and embeds so the page stops jumping while it loads.

Critical path

Above-the-fold CSS prioritised and the rest deferred, so the first screen paints fast.

Real-device testing

Measured on actual phones and throttled connections — not just a desktop lab score.

Core Web Vitals, in plain language

We report these before and after, measured on mobile, so the improvement is verifiable rather than a claim.

What we will not promise

We will not promise a 100 PageSpeed score. On a real store with a chat widget, reviews, analytics and a payment provider, a perfect score is not achievable — and chasing it means removing tools your business needs.

What we do promise is meaningful, measurable improvement in real mobile load time and Core Web Vitals, without breaking functionality. If an app is genuinely slowing you down, we will tell you and suggest a lighter alternative — the decision stays yours.

Frequently asked questions

How much faster will my Shopify store get?

It depends on the starting point. Stores with heavy images and many apps usually see the largest gains. We measure your Core Web Vitals first, tell you what is achievable, and send a before-and-after report on delivery.

Do you use a speed optimisation app?

No. Speed apps usually add another script and shuffle the problem around. We do code-level work in the theme — script control, image and font handling, layout-shift fixes — which is what actually moves the numbers.

Can you get me a 100 PageSpeed score?

Honestly, no — and neither can anyone else on a real store running chat, reviews, analytics and payments. We optimise for real mobile load time and Core Web Vitals, which is what affects conversion and rankings.

Will optimisation break my apps or store features?

No. We test every change on a duplicate theme before publishing, and we do not remove anything without your approval. If an app is causing a serious slowdown, we tell you and suggest a lighter alternative.

How long does speed optimisation take?

Most stores take three to seven working days. Stores with many apps or custom code can take longer. You get the scope and timeline in writing before we begin.

Will faster load improve my Google rankings?

Core Web Vitals are part of how Google assesses page experience, so improving them helps — but content and links still matter more. The bigger, more immediate gain is usually conversion and lower ad waste.

Do I need speed work or a full redesign?

If your store’s design and structure are fine and only speed is weak, optimisation alone is far cheaper. Send us your URL and we will tell you which one you actually need.

Will the store stay fast after you finish?

It stays fast unless new heavy apps or unoptimised images are added later. We include guidance on keeping it fast, and can review it periodically if you prefer ongoing support.
